Posthumous Awarding of Degree or Certificate

Administrative Procedure 4.604

In the unfortunate event of the death of a currently enrolled student, the process outlined in Administrative Procedure 4.406: Death of a Student/Former Student will be followed.

In addition, the student’s academic record will be reviewed by the records office for graduation eligibility.

  • If the student was enrolled in their final semester prior to graduating, faculty will be asked to submit final grades, if available.
  • If the requirements are met for the student’s active program(s), the degree(s) or certificate(s) will be conferred at the end of the semester.
  • The diploma will be mailed to the family.
