ECC Observer (Student Newspaper)
The Observer, the newspaper of Elgin Community College, is a student-run organization featuring online articles covering current campus events and activities. It is also in its second season of the Eye of the Observer podcast. Serving as a platform for students to express their views and opinions freely, this news organization provides valuable experience in digital news production. Students involved may also earn college credit while informing the campus community about the latest events and news.
Did you know?
The Elgin Community College student newspaper staff, the Observer, earned 13 writing, photography, and design awards from the Illinois Community College Journalism Association. "It's always great to see our work receive recognition," said Camryn Cutinello, Observer editor-in-chief. "Our staff works very hard on every issue we release, and I'm proud of everyone who was recognized for individual awards and our whole staff for the award for best website." The newspaper is a member of the Illinois Community College Journalism Association and the Associated Collegiate Press.
