Add Alt Text to Posts with Images

In the browser

To add alt text in the browser version of LinkedIn, follow these steps:

  1. Click the “ALT” button underneath your selected image.

  4. Repeat steps 1 through 3 for each image.
  5. Once complete, click the “Next” button to continue adding to your post.

In the mobile app

To add alt text in the LinkedIn mobile app:

  1. Once you are in the image editor, click on the “ALT” icon at the bottom.

  3. Click “Done” in the top right corner.
  4. If you have multiple images, swipe left and right to switch between them. Repeat steps 1 through 3 for each image.
  5. Once complete, click the “Next” button in the top right corner to continue adding to your post.

Adding Captions to a Video

LinkedIn can add captions automatically to your videos, or you can upload your own SRT file.

In the browser

To add captions in the browser:

  1. On the video editor page, click on the “CC” icon beneath the video.

  2. To add captions automatically, click the toggle button for “Add auto captions.
  3. To upload your own SRT file, click “Upload SRT.

In the mobile app

In the LinkedIn app, only automatically generated captions are available without the ability to edit. To turn this on:

  1. Click the “CC” icon at the bottom.
