Registration for summer and fall credit classes is underway at Elgin Community College and will continue until classes start, space permitting. Students can register for classes at Students needing help can email

All summer classes will be offered online due to the unpredictable nature of the COVID-19 pandemic. Some lab classes normally offered during the summer may not be available this year. Please note that other courses may be added to the summer 2020 schedule as arrangements continue to evolve. However, Adult Education (High school equivalency and ESL) courses will not be offered this summer. Students should periodically check the summer schedule for updates. A final decision on the method of fall instruction has not been made at this time.

"ECC remains committed to the success of our students during these unprecedented times,” said Gregory D. Robinson, PhD, Assistant Vice-President of Student Services and Development / Dean of Students. “We have provided students with alternative teaching and learning resources, as well as a wide range of support services to help them successfully transition to a remote environment.  In keeping with our mission 'to improve people’s lives through learning,' we will continue to provide support and guidance to our students as we navigate these uncertain times together."

There are three summer sessions with classes beginning the weeks of June 1, June 15, and July 13. Fall daytime and evening 16-week classes begin the week of Aug. 24. Early registration is advised to get the best selection of courses and times.

Each year, the ECC Foundation offers more than 200 student scholarships, worth thousands of dollars, based on financial need, career areas of study, and academic and leadership excellence. Current and prospective students are encouraged to reach out via email to ECC’s Financial Aid and Scholarships Office to determine their eligibility for federal financial aid and grants.
