Overview

Sociology is an exciting field that explains important matters in our lives, communities, and the world. It examines human society and the complex relationships in an increasingly global, interconnected, and complex world. At the personal level, it investigates the social causes and consequences of numerous concepts, including race and gender identity, conflict in a family, aging, and even romantic love.

ECC students may choose from various sociology classes and even participate in independent projects in undergraduate research, which provide students with opportunities for hands-on research, innovation, and creative exploration with mentorship from faculty members, allowing students to delve into topics of interest and develop valuable research skills that can benefit them in various career paths.
