Registration for spring credit classes is underway at Elgin Community College and will continue until the semester starts Jan. 14, space permitting. College staff are ready and available to help new students through the application and enrollment process, regardless of the student’s age or stage in life. Students are advised to register as soon as possible to get the best selection of courses and times, so they can build a schedule that fits with their lives and goals.

ECC offers more than 130 degree and certificate options in popular areas of study such as business and professional services; digital technologies; health professions; education and human services; liberal, visual, and performing arts; emergency services and public safety; technical education; and university transfer. Over 20 different student clubs and organizations, on-campus presentations, and guest speakers give students the opportunity to explore their interests and expand their perspectives outside of the classroom.

Many adults who have no college credit as well as those who have some credit but no degree can move ahead at ECC to increase their earnings potential in a current field or to transition into a new career by completing a degree or certificate program. Some certificates can be earned in as little as one semester. Interested adults should call the Admissions Office at 847-214-7385 for more information on services for adult students.

Current students may register online through accessECC on the college's website or in person at the Registration Center located in Building B, Room B105, on the Spartan Drive Campus, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin. The Registration Center is open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays. It is recommended that students meet with their academic advisor to choose classes that will apply toward their intended degree or certificate.

Tuition is due on Jan. 3. Payment plans are available and resources such as ECC Foundation scholarships and financial aid may be available to those who qualify.
