17th Integration Contest

The ECC math department runs the integration contest each Fall and Spring semester. It is a “spelling bee” style contest, but participants must correctly compute mathematical integrals instead of spelling words.

There are timed rounds in which every participant works on computing the same integral. With each new round comes a new integral, and integrals become progressively more difficult with each subsequent round. New rounds continue until there is only one participant remaining, and this participant is the winner.

At the end of each round, we discuss the correct answer, and participants are encouraged to stay and continue to compute contest integrals even after elimination. Prizes are awarded to first, second, and third-place winners.

Congrats to the winners of the 17th Integration Contest! The contest had 40 participants. It lasted about 2 hours and had 14 rounds of integrals.
