Communication Design

Overview

Communication Design professionals—graphic designers, web designers, and videographers—create powerful visual concepts using computer software and other equipment to inspire, inform, and connect with consumers. If you're the creative, problem-solving type who enjoys experimenting with color, typography, and new techniques in the latest photo editor, Communication Design may be for you.

ECC's Communication Design Department encompasses two visual disciplines: Graphic Design (incorporating Web Design) and Videography. Experience hands-on learning in small classes using the same technology professionals use in the field. Exceptional, industry-seasoned faculty guide you as you learn best practices, techniques, and trends through real-world simulated projects while you build your portfolio, so you'll be prepared for an exciting career when you've completed your coursework—looking for even more experience? Join the Spartan Design Club to work on design projects for real clients!

Jumpstart your new career and enhance your earning potential by completing an Associate of Applied Science degree in Graphic Design or Videography. If you're seeking an existing degree or master new skills to gain a competitive edge in today's marketplace, certificates are offered for the Adobe Creative Suite, Internet Design, or Videography. You can even pursue an Associate in Arts degree that includes electives in Communication Design to transfer to a four-year college or university.
