ECC offers online, hybrid, and face-to-face classes, so you can choose the format that fits your needs. Fall classes begin August 21, September 25 and October 16 , 2023.
Credit Class Learning Options
ECC offers various classes to meet your learning and scheduling requirements. All of these courses have online components. Some also include labs, studios, and clinical requirements in blended face-to-face and online formats (Hybrid). Schedule programs with a clinical component into available slots at the assigned clinical site(s) around your schedule.

Online-Only Classes
Online-only courses are delivered 100 percent online, with no face-to-face sessions required. Classes are taught entirely online, following instructor timelines and learning outcomes. You interact primarily through discussion boards and written messages; all assignments are submitted online.

Online-Synchronous Classes
Online-synchronous courses are delivered 100 percent online with real-time, specifically scheduled online interaction with your instructor and/or class. These classes allow for engagement in a remote classroom.

Hybrid Classes
Hybrid classes with both face-to-face and online instruction. The definition of a hybrid course typically requires a 50 percent split between face-to-face and online instruction.

Face-to-Face Classes
Face-to-face classes are traditional on-campus classroom instruction where students and instructors meet at a scheduled time and day in the same physical location. These regular 16-week classes are ideal for those who enjoy direct interaction with peers and instructors. Face-to-face meeting days and times for each section vary depending on the course and learning needs.

Weekend Classes
For weekend classes, use the 'Advanced Search' tab and choose the days of the week: Friday and/or Saturday.

8- and 12-Week Classes
8- and 12-week classes vary by department and semester, so refer to the accessECC portal to Use the 'Advanced Search' tab and enter the meeting start date and end date. They're a great alternative to the traditional 16-week courses.

Honors Classes

Accelerated Learning Program (ALP)
Rather than taking two semesters to complete ENG-098 and ENG-101, if you're placed into ENG-098 can take both classes in just one semester. Some ENG-098 students take the ENG-101 course, with students placed directly into ENG-101. The ENG-098 class meets immediately following their ENG-101 class for additional support.

To ensure success with online classes, you should do your best to access computer hardware and software, including a webcam and Wi-Fi service. Please contact the Dean of Students if you need additional assistance.

To find class offerings that have not started yet, use the 'Advanced Search' tab and enter the meeting start date, using today's date or later and entering a meeting end date.

ECC reserves the right to convert initially designated hybrid courses to alternate forms of delivery depending on the State of Illinois Recovery Plan.
