Women's Soccer
The way these Spartans play, it's no wonder the sport has 30 billion fans worldwide.
What's New
October 25, 2011 - All good things must come to an end. The ECC Women’s Soccer Team closed out the season with a 5-0 loss against College of Lake County in the semi-final round of the Region IV Tournament.
“We had a great season,” exclaimed head coach Jamie Shaw. “We worked hard and we played well. Three players made the All-Region team and seven made the All-Conference team. We had a total of 60 goals. Overall, I’d say we had an awesome season!”
Team captains Taylor Schulze and Alyssa Howard will certainly be missed next year. These two players were the only two returners on the 2011 squad.
“Both players were incredible assets to our team in terms of goals, but more importantly moral,” Shaw said. “Howard brought positivity and Schulze has an incredible work ethic. We wish them both nothing but the best, and I know that they both have bright futures ahead of them at their next colleges.” Schulze and Howard received All-Conference and All-Region awards.
Next season looks promising for the Spartans as most of the team will be sophomores. “We will have some experience behind us next season,” said Coach Shaw. “Right now, though, we’re going to concentrate on our recent successes.” More»
Season Outlook
Elgin Community College's Women’s Soccer Team is eager to start the season. The team will be composed of many new recruits along with a few familiar faces, and we are looking forward to a promising season.
We have quite a few exceptionally talented young women joining the team this year. The ECC Women’s Soccer Team anticipates many goals from quick forwards and midfielders. We expect to shut down opponents with a solid and technically savvy defensive back.
