Nursing Program
The college offers an associate of applied science degree in nursing. Upon successful completion, graduates are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN state licensure exam to become a registered nurse (RN). After completing the first-year of the nursing program, students may earn a vocational specialist certificate in practical nursing and are eligible to take the NCLEX-PN state licensure exam to become a licensed practical nurse (LPN). Basic nurse assistant training to become a certified nurse assistant is also available.
Note: Criminal background checks and drug testing are required for all health professions programs. Students demonstrating a positive background check or positive drug test will be denied admission to health professions programs. Students demonstrating a positive background check or positive drug test while enrolled in health professions programs will be dismissed from the program.

Screening Process
All candidates who submit a complete admission packet for the nursing program by January 15 (fall admission) or August 15 (spring admission) (or the Friday before if the 15th falls on a weekend) are evaluated twice a year using the following criteria.
Criteria
- NLN test score which must be a minimum of 55. More»
- ACT composite score or grade point average (GPA) for total credit hours of general education courses required for nursing, including either anatomy & physiology or microbiology. More»
